WORK READINESS PROGRAM

A program of this nature imparts work readiness skills to prospective employees so as to aquire a better understanding of the fundamentals required in a work environment in order to be better prepared for the job market.

Employers expect their fairly new employees to have workplace skills whereas the new employees expect to be nurtured towards their new roles and once that does not happen, frustration and tensions emerge and the work environment ceases to be conducive for the employee to optimally perform their duties.This is amongst the factors that employers will be persuaded to employ experienced employees so as to avoid inducting an inexperienced employee who is likely to take some time to acclimatize to the expected standard. Therefore, this program seeks to deal with such impediments.

Just like career exhibitions were convened in an effort of ensuring students make informed decisions relating to their ascendency to institutions of Higher Learning, a work readiness program possesses an equal stature as it seeks to empower alike however under a different context.

We cover the following topics for our work readiness progress however when the need arises, we flexibly expand:

Personal Skills

Prepare one for employment: How do I prepare for the job?, What training do I need and who is going to provide it? Structure of my Curriculum Vitae, How to prepare for the interview?

Plan to manage your time: Goal setting, turning goals into action, where will I find the time to do it all? Where should I start? Drawing up a plan to organize tasks and activities, getting things done, did it work?

Manage Personal Finances: What is personal finance? Money in society, financial planning, My wants and needs? My expenses? My income? My payslip? Financial institutions? Methods of financing? Doing my banking? Safety with banking? Setting personal goals and Drawing up my budget?

Substance abuse and dependency: What is substance abuse? How does it happen? Short term effects? Long term effects? Getting help?

Project Management

We have experience in managing education related projects through our efficient systems of planning, coordination and execution. Our interactions with government institutions has enabled us to build sustainable relationships with District offices and their respective Headquarters.

The Aluta team has project managed the 2nd Chance Matric Rewrite program in the Eastern Cape wherein they had the pleasure of managing Centres in Mount Frere, Qumbu,Mthatha, Butterworth, Grahamstown, King Williams Town and Port Elizabeth.

They have organized annual Career Exhibitions particularly in the rural areas, where the presence of pertinent stakeholders such as NSFAS,EC Universities, TVET Colleges, various SETA's and government departments that offer bursaries are invited to make presentations.
